Meat Series—Highlighted Features

Catch Weight

VerticalSoft Food Manufacturing allows you to set up an inventory item so that two units of measures will be captured simultaneously with each transaction. (Note, this feature is different than another feature that allows optional units of measures to be selected for a given transaction). For example, catch-weighted products can be ordered by the case and price by the pound on the same order line. VerticalSoft Food Manufacturing will capture case quantity and actual weights rather than estimated weights during transaction processing. The dual unit of measure feature results in more accurate inventory control and establishes flexible pricing methods on either unit of measure. This feature creates even larger advantages in purchasing and sales history analysis because full units and splits can be consolidated into a common unit of measure.

Co-Products/By-Products

Most ERP systems record only one output per Bill of Material definition. VerticalSoft Food Manufacturing allows multiple outputs to be defined for a process definition. These outputs can be established as co-products/by-products. Each output can be lot tracked separately. Cost allocations are determined based on the output type, co-product or by-product.

Marketing Plans

Food companies need to be very creative in today's marketplace. Over the years bill back plans, rebates, commissions, sponsorships and other marketing related plans have been established with their customers in order to creative sales incentives. This creativity presents complex calculation schemes and thus, consumes tremendous resource time if not properly automated. VerticalSoft Food Manufacturing offers one of the most comprehensive systems on the market to address the different marketing plans that exist in the food industry. Here is some of what we address:

Shop Floor Data Capture

Inventory control and lot tracking are critical features in any food plant.

To deliver this functionality in today's modern meat facility, shop floor

data capture systems are almost a necessity. You need a system that will

capture the right data and validate that data under difficult conditions.

We have years of experience in automating inventory transactions in the
